We have to apologize. We’re not sure how this happened, but… this is the first time we’ve ever posted about blintzes on our blog. We’re so sorry. We did include a recipe for Spiced Apple Blintzes in our cookbook, but we know that’s not enough. So to make up for this blintz blunder, today we are going all out. Please give a warm welcome to a breakfast that’s about to change everything: Brown Butter Peach Blintzes with Vanilla Crème Fraîche.

Hi-ho, hi-ho it’s off to Kentucky we go! On Friday, we will be flying to Lexington for a special FEEDback Retreat that our friend Lauren has been organizing for the past several months. We started to tell you about it when we posted the recipe for our bourbon pecan pie upside-down cake, and if you haven’t made it yet, this is the perfect time, since today we are sharing a refreshing cocktail—also made with bourbon—that will accompany that cake like a bow and fiddle. We have been requested to make both recipes at the retreat, and next weekend is already starting to sound like a party. Between bourbon tastings at local distilleries and cooking together with our friends in a historic country estate, we are also lending a helping hand to raise awareness for hunger relief. On Saturday morning, we will be working at a school cafeteria to volunteer with the nonprofit Rise Against Hunger to package over 15,000 meals for people in need. The event runs on donations, and our group managed to raise over $4,000, so we’re grateful to everyone that participated to make this a reality. If you live in the Central Kentucky area and would like to join us, we would love to see you! You can register HERE—it’s super easy and takes just a few seconds, and if you’re not in the area, but would still like to donate, click HERE.

You spoke and we listened! Four days ago we proposed a question on Instagram, asking for recipe requests for our weekly Friday Live show. This week marks our 23rd episode, and we thought it would be fun to see what our audience wanted to watch us make! Suggestions came in from literally around the world, and one idea in particular caught our attention. Over five thousand miles away, across the Atlantic Ocean in the city of Edinburgh, Scotland lives a friend of ours named Ryan-Andrew Brown. In addition to attending medical school and caring for patients in hospitals, somehow he also finds time to post original recipes on his beautifully-photographed cooking blog. When he proposed that we make something distinctly American—like a cobbler—we immediately knew what we had to do.

Guess what we just did? If you guessed purchased plane tickets to Kauai, you are correct! This October we will be flying 2,627 miles over the Pacific Ocean to relax in the sun and explore one of our favorite places on earth. We were invited by The Westin Princeville to stay at their resort and host a live cooking show from the spacious kitchenettes in their villas. Every Friday at noon for the past four months, we have been going live on Instagram, making a new recipe from our kitchen—although technically, we film it in our living room since that has the best lighting—and we can’t tell you how excited we are to host an episode from Hawaii (we just love how that sounds)! With coconut palms and ocean views as our backdrop, we hope you’ll join us on October 20th at 12pm PST as we whip up something deliciously tropical and share stories of our Kauai adventures on a special episode live from the North Shore.
